My Story

This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, over 1,700 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

    I have a cold but it goes away while biking. The fresh rain helps and I think the sawdust in our house doesn't help. Biked the loop between 5 communities yesterday day: McKenzie Lake, Cranston, Seton, Auburn Bay and McKenzie Towne and back.

    Today I biked to Sobeys for groceries and to get cash to buy Sebastian a better bike. I hope he will bike with me more.

    Day one of the challenge. I joined a Facebook Calgary bike riding group. Drove to Heritage biked from Heritage to the confluence and then biked from the confluence to Lindsay Park with the group and then biked back to Heritage and drove home this year. I'm looking to do more group riding and riding with friends to make this a more enjoyable, exciting experience, especially since we are not traveling through Victoria during the challenge.
