I going to be my 10th year of riding in The Great Cycle Challenge I decided to ride in Tibute of My Dad He was an amazing man. I didn’t get to spend enough time with him. Braxton Weidman 9-year-old Braxton Weidman had passed away following a 17-month battle with a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer called gliomatosis cerebri. Ben Stelter Ben Stelter, a young Edmonton Oilers superfan, passed away in August 2022 at the age of 6 after battling glioblastoma, a type of brain cancer

My Story

This August, I'm riding 1300 km in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

In 1980, at the young age of four, I was diagnosed with a canerous brain tumour

With hope, faith and determination, l battled with friends and family at my side. This fact alone does not define me, however it is an imporant part of my and the experience has helped me develop individually. I am a survivor and even though I was left with a weak right side and developed epilespsy, I am here today to share my story and to use my strenghts towards and excellent foundation.

I have a soft spot in my heart for for kids with cancer and I am determined to make my kilmetres count! Jarrod Russell is the #1 fundraiser of ALL TIME in Canada and the #2 fundraiser across the WORLD throughout the history of Great Cycle Challenge. He is UNSTOPPABLE!

He’s back again in 2025 is riding his recumbent bike for the 10th year in a row, and get this…over the last 9years, Jarrod has ridden a total of 10,724km and raised an incredible

Total over $272,074 of to fight kids’ cancer! No words…

Childhood cancer is a cause is close to his heart. Jarrod was diagnosed with a brain tumor at 4 years old and while he beat it (woohoo!), he is still dealing with treatment side-effects of epilepsy and partial paralysis to this day…but that won’t stop him riding to help other kids win their personal battle with cancer…RESPECT. 🙌
