Jake was cycling one evening and was struck by a drunk driver and tragically lost his life.

My Story

As a lot of you know, 6 years ago I embarked on a wonderful adventure inspired by Jacob Simmons (a former player who was tragically struck by a impaired driver).

Jake was an inspiration to many through his amazing story of self improvement and running. There was a post he wrote which resonated with me "I now run in honour of my lost ones and those who no longer have the ability to do so themselves. In 2020, I challenge you to find something you are passionate about or something that's bigger than you and get out there and make a difference." #FightTheGoodFight which inspired me to take part in the great Cycle Challenge.

I was awestruck by the support from everyone during my journey to help raise awareness and funds for The Sick Kids Foundation. I am accepting Jake's challenge once again and raising my goals for distance and money raised to challlenge myself along with making a difference! RIP Jake! May your spirit live on!
